Well It shouldn't be too hard if you have the "Lord Package" which you'll have for free if you check your gift-box upper left. Be sure to claim it and unwrap it in your "my items". Click "details" and "apply".
If you don't meet the standards to get the Lord Package then build whats necessary... Town Hall must be at lvl 3. You can speed up things by using your Guidelines if you push "Speed up" If you need your promotion immidiatly :)
First of all you need to be lieutanent. Thats 10.000 gold. That shouldn't be much of a problem. Is it a problem, my advide is to sell some lumber if you have any to spare. Now its time to be a knight - You need 20.000 gold this time. Again, trade some resources at the Market if you need gold.
The medals you need should be in your Lord-package.
Now its time to skip the captain-promotion. Its more important to be able to build a second city in your beginners protection. See how to build a new city here. You might have medals enough to become a captain, but do that AFTER you've promoted to Knight.
